Another brain wave idea. Why not combine two of the worlds most greatest things to ever exist: The world of Pokemon and Disney. Well, to be honest, I’ve always envisioned Meowth with fur like the Cheshire cat. Just the thought alone seemed of PURE AWESOMENESS. You guys can be the judge of that. Perhaps I’ll start a series… perhaps… not, perhaps?

The best thing that could’ve ever happened to me. Although he doesn’t like me showing off your relationship so much for obvious reasons, I do it anyways because the happiness it gives me is too much to keep it a secret c: This is our secret hide away on a City park in Santiago, Chile called “Cerro San Cristobal” It’s where we go to escape from the world’s prejudice and hate, and to freely express to one another our immense love and do what we dont when we are in public. <3

The interior of a Eukaryotic Cell, from the outer membrane through the cytosol to the nucleus.  All molecular structures are colored by their function; the cytoskeleton is blue, membranes are green, ribosomes are purple, RNA and spliceosomes are pink, DNA and nucleosomes are yellow.  This cell is producing antibodies, all steps of the process are visualized in order from the bottom to the top of the image.

First DNA is transcribed to RNA, and the RNA is spliced before leaving the nucleus through a nuclear poreTranslation begins when the RNA becomes bound to a ribosome, which converts the genetic sequence to a linear protein.  The proteins are folded and sorted inside the Golgi Complex, and then packaged into vesicles by the geodesic Clathrin Assembly.  These vesicles are pulled along microtubules by kinesin motors.  The vesicles then fuse with the outer membrane, and the antibodies are released into the bloodstream.

The Woven Brain

To the unaided eye, the most striking feature of the human brain is its squiggly pattern of bumps and grooves. But within those curves is a latticework of nerve fibers that cross each other at roughly right angles (above), according to a study published in tomorrow’s issue of Science. The researchers used a recently-developed method called diffusion spectrum imaging to infer the position of nerve fibers in the living human brain from the way water flows through and around them. These scans revealed an orderly weave of fibers—a much simpler organization than many scientists would have suspected. Scans in four monkey species found a similar pattern. The researchers suggest that this grid-like organization may be advantageous during brain development, providing the equivalent of highway lane markers to help growing nerve fibers find their way to the appropriate destination.
